New York, NY, USA and Gloucestershire, UK — May 9, 2006. Everyclick.com and Linkstorm today announced the results of their first 9 months running a new type of ad unit pioneered by Linkstorm and displayed on 400 Everyclick.com affiliate sites.
Everyclick.com is a search engine that partners with charities to create inbound traffic referred by the charities' websites. Everyclick then shares 50% of its gross revenue gained by monetizing that traffic. This win/win provides Everyclick with an affiliate network (charity websites) and charities with income from referral commissions. Approximately 400 of these sites refer traffic to Everyclick by displaying a special type of advertisement created and syndicated to those sites by Linkstorm.
Linkstorm is pioneering a new type of ad unit that displays an entire menu of links when the user rolls his/her mouse over an ad. In Everyclick's case, the links on the menu point back to all of Everyclick's search categories, thus in effect exporting Everyclick's website structure out to where the user is, instead of making the user have to come to the Everyclick site in order to see this content. Linkstorm has further built a customization capability whereby each site that displays the Linkstorm gets a unique referral code appended to all of its menu choices, thus enabling Everyclick to recognize and pay the referral commissions.
Said Polly Gowers, Managing Director of Everyclick.com, "Right from the beginning, we made Linkstorm a key component of our partnering business model because we foresaw its power to drive higher click-throughs than a simple link to our home page. With the help of 400 partner sites who have adopted the Linkstorm banner ad and have served more than 3.3 million ad impressions to date, plus some other sites which have not yet adopted it, our partner network has delivered more than 360,000 searches over the last 9 months, or about 1/10 of our overall site traffic."
Said David Sidman, Founder and CEO of Linkstorm, "Our best ideas have always come from our customers, and Everyclick's innovative search engine business model motivated us to create the capabilities that now represent our unique ad-serving infrastructure. As a result, when we refocused our entire company around Online Advertising several months ago, we already had the technology and operations in place to support this new focus. It's an ongoing delight to work with such creative, cutting- edge customers as Everyclick."
Linkstorm provides technology for improving results with online advertising, marketing, measurement and other business activities that need rapid, robust and persistent linking.
